December 1,2004 – Special Meeting – Airport Noise Abatement and a newly proposed ordinance                                              

I.      Call to Order by Marion Holloway, Welcome to everyone – 6:30 pm  - 30 attendees signed in.

 II.      Introduction of the guest presenter – Lisa De La Rionda, Manager, Noise and Community Affairs and Casandra Davis, Noise Abatement Officer

 o       Review of the Milestones, current air traffic, proposed ordnance coverage area.  – See attached presentation: Airport Update.PDF

 §         Open Discussion on of the newly proposed ordinance, it’s relation to Palm Beach County, Planning and Zoning Article 16 and potential impact of the new ordnance to our area.    Attachments

 o       Bill Moss – City Commissioner was in attendance and agreed to review this proposed ordnance with the other city commissioners and mayor.  The Home Owners board will communicate with Bill Moss during this process.   

o       The question of how we can get involved – Lisa De La Rionda suggests that Marion or a board representative attend the Citizens Committee on Airport Noise (CCAN) meetings.  This is the forum to express our concerns and impact the final decision.    The next CCAN meeting is Thursday, February 24, 2005, 9:30 AM

III.      Many questions, concerns and past experience were voiced during the meeting.

o       There were some attendees who have years of experience dealing with Airport Noise and shared the experience with the group and should be leveraged in the coming discussions.

IV.      Next Steps

o       The Prospect Park – Monceaux Home Owners Association will work closely with the City Commissioners and in our attendance of CCAN meetings.

o       We will communicate all correspondence, events and progress on our website www.pphhoa.org .
